Writer/Director Malik Vitthal was born and raised in Los Angeles. Co-writing his directorial debut feature IMPERIAL DREAMS starring John Boyega at The Sundance Screenwriters Lab, it not only received the Time Warner Storytelling Grant and Lynn Auerback Screenwriting Fellowship, but it also went on to win The Sundance Audience Award: Best of NEXT.
Imperial Dreams led to his show stopping two minute commercial, The Talk for P&G and BBDO NY’s My Black Is Beautiful initiative. An unmitigated culture defining success exposing the conversation that black mothers have to have with their children about racism, which awarded a coveted Primetime Emmy, Cannes Lions Film Grand Prix and AICP Show Honour for Direction. His previous work on Boost Mobile won the AdAge Campaign of the Year and Cannes Lion Titanium and Grand Prix.
